Aerosol Art Thrown Up To Music “Timelapse” by Calvin & Hobbes
Originally from Philadelphia, Parker Krasner (a.k.a. Calvin Hobbes) is a producer who currently resides in Southern California and attends Chapman University. Playing the cello in his early years, Parker’s roots are in classical and contemporary music. We reached out to Calvin because he used some of the Drum Samples we’ve carried at Big Noise MPC to create some really smooth and sophisticated hip-hop production. The vibes are definitely in the mellow organic category. Boom Bap Phonetics was one of many drum sets recently provided to the winner of the Custom MPC 2000XL Giveaway. The winner gained the entire Hiop-hop Drum Sample collection (from dope independent producers) provided by Alkota Beats.
When we asked him what drums he used for the project Calvin responded, “Hey man I really appreciate the listen! In regards to the specific sounds, I was best at using Boom Bap Phonetics during the time I put the tape together: Endtro – Boom Bap Phonetic’s dbk1, dbk19, dbsn9, dbsh4, dbsh3, dbhh11 | Francoise – Phonetic’s dbb14 | I Want You 2 – Phonetic’s dbk11 | To Kill A Mockingbird – Phonetic’s dbbl14.
I also used a couple breaks from the international and minty sets available on your site. I’m extremely glad you enjoyed listening to my stuff, but I think you’ll like the music I’m putting out at the start of February better. I used a solid DAW/sequencer through my computer for this tape, but will mostly feature stuff I made on Roland’s SP-404 on the upcoming release since I just recently began using it.
