AUDIO & STORAGE UPGRADES
Customers and beat-maker forums have been debating about audio quality for some years now. Vintage audio gear vs new audio equipment. Analog gear vs digital gear, in the box vs out of the box. The conversation still continues. Big Noise Audio / MPC has been providing audio upgrade services since 2019. Audio path electrolytic capacitor replacement and Op-Amp upgrades. The Knock Boxx stereo high current pre-amp with API style audio transformers. Regarding the new MPC samplers changing the audio-path caps can improve sound quality significantly.
The new school machines are designed and built with surface mount components. The current capability of SMD components are small. This effects the sound quality when low frequency program is involved. Our upgrade techniques replace the SMD capacitors with large leaded audiophile caps with plenty of current capability. This improves the sound quality in a very noticeable way. Our focus is enhanced sound quality that people can hear. For example our Akai MPC X audio upgrade service provides much more bang for the buck than the Black Lion Audio service.
Interested in replacing the Floppy or Zip drive on your vintage drum machine. Big Noise has a suite of options for you. Hot swap IDE and SCSI card readers for older machines. Removable SSD units for newer machines like the Akai MPC 4000. Customers email to ask about storage options.
